Captain Ethan
Ethan holds a USCG Master Captain's License and is a Master Maine Guide. Ethan grew up on the banks of the Kennebec River and resides here year round. His extensive knowledge of the area makes him safe and fun. Let him tell you first hand about lobstering, tuna fishing, tidal power generation and boatbuilding. He offers the memorable experience you are looking for that only a genuine local can provide.
First Mate Soren
Soren Langord, Ethan’s part-time roommate from age 5-10, grew up in Phippsburg. He is a member of the class of 2022 at Morse High School in Bath. He has his eyes set on going to college to “save him from the hell that Captain Ethan calls lobstering”.
Second Mate Larson
It all begins with that first twist of the throttle. Maybe you want to turn it wide open. Maybe you want to just steer this thing and see how she handles.
Our Boats
The Grasshopper
The Grasshopper is a 28-foot fiberglass, lobster boat. She is built in Maine and built to work. The Grasshopper is very comfortable and outfitted with state-of-the-art electronics and safety equipment. There is no better way to see the coast of Maine than from a lobster boat and we keep her clean!
The Guppy
The Guppy is the original Fish'n'Trips Charters boat. She has been in Captain Ethan's family since she was brand new; first, as a lobster boat with a wheelhouse then re-rigged by Captain Ethan himself. This 21-footer now sports a center console and is an inshore fishing weapon. She has full electronics and safety equipment. This classic Maine built downeast style boat is safe, comfortable and proven!
Fish’n Trips Charters is owned and operated out of Popham Beach by Master Maine Guide, Captain Ethan DeBery. He started the business in 2004 and by 2010 expanded with Seguin Island Ferry boating passengers to Seguin, a remote island filled with historic value, walking trails and the highest lighthouse in Maine.
